To help the 20 million American Deaf , hard of hearing and ASL hearing people to improve the quality of their lives by providing an interactive Web-based information "Sharepoint" that stimulates personal growth, independence, education, collaboration and values.

 

The Vision of the Deaf America Organization (DAO) is to develop and manage seven Regional deaf communities, between 10 and 100 acreas each, located across the United States that will provide over 1000 deaf and ASL DAO members with:

• affordable rental housing
• natural foods and farm products
• employment at DAO facilities
• improved social friendships
• deaf-friendly environment
• good moral values

 

Our Mission

We are a member-driven organization that is open to the entire Internet community. 

We share current information, survey polls, forums, photos, events, documents and Web links in a way that helps further the cause of supporting the Deaf and Hard of Hearing across America. 

We offer our Sharepoint services free of charge, supported through donations made by our business partners and affiliates.

Our Members

Members who join DeafAmerica.org have additional access to our member information and demographics that is not shared with the general public. 

We do not have one "Web Master" ... we have 1000 Web Masters!  (our valued Members)

Anyone may make an information contribution to the site (add Web links, post forum messages, create calendar events, and share news articles). 

Registered Members may also upload documents and photos as well as participate in the site content review and approval process.

All information is reviewed and approved before it is displayed on our Sharepoint.

We provide this service free of charge for the purpose of providing an effective and efficient way for Deaf Americans to communicate, collaborate, and share information.
